For a celebration with nature:
Advent and Christmas decorations made from veneer
Bonn. Veneer is the thinnest solid wood in the world. This makes it a renewable and natural material. It is also ecological and sustainable because it is robust and durable. Many shops are offering a wide range of decorations made from real wood veneer for this year's Advent and Christmas season. "This is a great trend to make a small contribution to combating climate change," says Ursula Geismann, managing director of the Initiative Veneer + Nature (IFN) and long-time home expert, "because the ecologically attractive use of veneer also causes no environmental damage and no unnecessary consumption of resources. The joy of the pre-Christmas period that is now starting is particularly noticeable this year. Finally, peace, security and peace again, at least at home, nut biscuits with cinnamon and honey and warm-looking decorations made from veneer. This is how Christmas is received with dignity.”
Wood products have always provided a cosy atmosphere in the house and apartment in winter and at Christmas time and are rising in popularity again due to the wide range of products available. Unique Christmas items made from flexible veneer just a few millimetres thick are available in a wide range of colours and shapes: Santa Claus, reindeer and other animal figures, sleighs, small and large angels, fir trees, snowmen and stars and much more. The selection of Advent and Christmas decorations made from veneer is almost limitless, even for the Christmas tree. The motifs on the artfully crafted pieces are lasered or printed on, for example. The natural and sustainably sourced veneer is the perfect and, above all, timeless addition to the Advent wreath, the Christmas tree, the Christmas pyramid sparkling in the candlelight and, finally, to the carved figures of the nativity scene. The veneer decoration can be used for several years if stored properly and when the time comes for something new, the decorations can be disposed of in a particularly environmentally friendly way. There are now many tasteful Christmas veneer products on the Internet. But be careful: There are also products that look like wood but are not. Customers should therefore make sure that they are actually real wood. IFN/DS
