Speakers with an elegant real wood finish:
Zülpich/Texas. Veneer is a flexible and sustainable all-rounder. This natural material proves this once again in the field of speaker development. For example, the ‘fillet of the tree' adorns the ‘Vanguard Scout' hi-fi speakers from the US-based company ‘Vera-Fi Audio' in Texas.
The compact 2-way bass reflex ‘Vanguard Scout' speakers are real eye-catchers: Their housing has been finished with sustainable rosewood veneer with a satin finish. ‘The wood captivates with its warm colours and individual grain, characteristics that turn an “ordinary” loudspeaker into a unique and visually attractive work of art,' says Vera-Fi Audio Managing Director Mark Schifter. In his view, black is used far too often for loudspeakers: "I believe that our customers prefer the warmth and beauty of real wood veneer to simple black lacquer or plastic film. They love rosewood, and since I used to sell many different loudspeakers, in my experience rosewood veneer was always the only choice that stood out from the crowd and delighted music lovers. ‘ Dirk-Uwe Klaas, managing director of the Initiative Furnier + Natur (IFN), can only agree: 'The speakers on display bring a piece of nature into the home and combine the positive properties of wood with modern design and beautiful sound. The Initiative Furnier + Natur (IFN) e.V. was founded in 1996 by the German veneer industry and its partners. Today it is supported by European companies from the veneer industry, the trade and the veneer processing industry as well as trade associations of the wood industry.
