IFN homepage in a new, barrier-free look

Bonn. The website of the Initiative Furnier + Natur (IFN) at www.furnier.de now offers new content and is also barrier-free. With immediate effect, users can look forward to extensive SEO optimisation, greater clarity and a newly integrated ‘Eye-Able Assist' for easier usability.

The ‘Eye-Able' software provides all people with barrier-reduced access to information on the Internet. ‘This includes a read-aloud function, contrast function, font adjustment, switching off animations and sound as well as a blue filter and night mode function and the option to reduce content,' explains the new interim Managing Director of IFN, Dirk-Uwe Klaas. All settings are only saved locally and are not transmitted further, which takes into account current data protection requirements. In addition to the integration of the Eye-Able assistance software, the website has also been brought up to date programmatically: well-structured texts, a clear page layout and easy-to-understand language now ensure comprehensive digital accessibility. ‘In addition, our homepage has been largely SEO-optimised. Image data was reduced to improve loading times, a comprehensive veneer encyclopaedia was created and press releases from our association members were integrated,' explains Klaas and concludes: 'Last but not least, our website has been optimised for SEO. ‘Last but not least, our website has been CO2-neutral with compensation since the beginning of last year. This fulfils our long-held wish to not only talk about a sustainable product, but also to present it sustainably on the Internet to all those interested in veneer.' IFN/DS
